About Me

The muse visits

Contrary to what the blog title and its happening sasparilla-suckin'dude may lead you to believe, I'm actually just a regular guy. I know I'm disappointed too. Maybe one day...

Anyway my name is David Meeks and I'm located in a secret little village in Northwest Ohio. I have always been infatuated with writing and video games, and after reading countless gaming magazines and visiting various online gaming publications I figured "Hey! I wanna do that too!"; and so here I am with my BA in English in-hand, ready to sling some words.

My MO for creating this blog is to give myself an outlet to write about video game related topics and, if all goes well, to draw an audience as well as amass a library of mind-blowing articles and reviews to "wow" any prospective employers.

I've been playing video games since the good old Atari came out, sinking hours into River Raid, Pitfall, PacMan and countless others. I won't bore you all with everything else I've played over the years but rest assured - if you can think about it I've either played it or could tell you a little about it.

Here at The Game Rambler I plan on touching on a variety of issues - things on my mind about what I'm currently playing, thoughts on the industry itself. Heck, I'll even throw in a review here and there just to spice things up. I have an interest in most gaming genres so if you're strictly a Madden or Call of Duty fan prepare to skim through plenty of text on rpg's, third person shooters, action/adventure games and so on. They all fascinate me, and they all have a home here as far as I'm concerned.

Hope you all enjoy what I have to say and feel free to comment if something comes to mind - just keep things nice, because the sasparilla-suckin' dude don't take kindly to potty mouths.

Thanks for reading!
